Simón Bolívar
Simon Bolivar was a Venezuelan military officer who played a key role in the country’s revolt against the Spanish empire. He was born into an affluent family and traveled to study in Spain, where he joined the resistance. Following France’s invasion of Spain, he was dubbed “El Libertador,” or “The Liberator.” Tuberculosis was the cause of his death.
